For me I really like the new weights. Gives the higher weights a class. The 195 and the 220 will help some kids out to wrestle kids there size.
Most of the wts were tweaked... basically, 103 was changed to 106 (thereby reducing further the opportunities for small Fr. to play a sport), 135 & 140 were combined into 138 and 189 was split into 182 & 195.
Here's the new wt. classes we'll see in a few months ...
106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220 and 285

Central Warriors The start of a new ERA!!!!
I like the break up of 189. I've always thought the 171 to 189 jump was awkward. And also the 189 to 215 jump. This fixes it. I like.
I like the new weight classes but I think one other needs to be added to that. I think they need at least one more weight class between 220-285. I know from experience how hard it is being a 220lb heavyweight wrestling against a guy who had to cut weight to get down to 275.(it was 275 when I wrestled heavyweight.) It's hard to execute throws against someone of that size and it is more difficult to shoot on someone who has got 35-40 pounds on you. I have heard people gripe about the weight classes and the gaps in them for awhile now. It's much easier wrestling a guy your size as opposed to someone who is much bigger, I have seen guys at 189 look like 230.. I like it.
